Season of mists and fellow fruitfulness.... that'll be Summer then.
Autumn dawns with unbroken blue skies and temperatures reaching the 20s for the first time in weeks. What's occuring?
I feel a bit topsy turvy myself at the moment.
There are so many things I want to achieve right now: courses to take, assignments to finish, work to complete, adventures with my family, words to write and painting itching to see the light of day. I'm so excited. I just can't get enough. I am a growing, learning and creative wild woman! Then sometimes it all gets too much to contemplate and I just go to bed.
Goddess Leonie says that "The energy is a bit of a bucking bronco at the moment. Everything will be okay, we are just going through a shift". It certainly feels like the Universe is playing funny games with me. Is it behaving for you?
This painting attemped to capture the topsy turvey weather. Those moments of mystical light when the storm clouds gather, brooding and heavy but the sun still sneaks through a gap and illuminates almost from beneath. That was the general idea anyway and I thought sunflowers were just perfect! Posting for Paint Party Friday (on Thursday - see, told you I was all at sixes and sevens!).
Now, what shall I do next? Art or go to bed?

You have summed up just how my household is feeling at the moment. We all have big life changes on the way (kids to new teacher's, hubby trying to go part time, me torn between painting and teaching).
ReplyDeleteI love the picture: hope you sort out a way to keep the creative topsy turvy and tame the organisation of managing it.
Love the painting and there does seem to be a lot of changes happening. I too have a lot of changes happening on the homefront.Too much to do, to little time. Great work Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteI hear you, Lisa. I've been there in that spot before. Keep pushing through. You've definitely got it within you! :) LOVING that painting, too. Hugs
ReplyDeleteThis painting has such great textures - I want to run my hand across the surface!

ReplyDeleteHappy PPF, Annette x
It is indeed a time of change. I feel it in the air. I see it at home and I see it when I try to paint. It's all very exciting and a bit scary too.xx

There is great energy and texture to this piece. It's great! Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteThere is so much energy in this painting. Good luck with sorting out all your directions and desires.
ReplyDeleteI always feel your excitement when I visit your blog. You do lead a creative life with all your classes and writing activity. It is normal to get bogged down once in awhile. Love the little painting you created in the greens and yellows.
ReplyDeleteOh -love it Lisa--I love when the season changes--a little sad--but always something different to look forward to.
ReplyDeleteGreat painting! The energy just pops and the title is perfect. It is a " Topsy Turvey" world these days.
ReplyDeleteWow! i LOVE it! :)
ReplyDeletethnx for visiting my blog earlier. :)
Wonderful painting that definitely captures that topsy turvy feeling and also that feeling as one season fades into the next...weather has been a bit unpredictable to say the least! Happy PPF! POP ART MINIS
ReplyDeleteI love your glowy sunflowers- so beautiful! And lately I've found myself quite UNinspired....it comes and goes I suppose :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful rendition of topsy turvy. The flowers look almost transparent and shiny. We've had topsy turvy here on the US east coast with first an earthquake 23 miles away and then a hurricane.
ReplyDeleteTo me, this is like flowers right after the rain, when the sky is a dark blue and the flowers are all freshly watered. So pretty.
ReplyDeleteYour topsy turvy is wonderful - those colors are just gorgeous, the yellow is so... fat and happy!! I just love how the colors all play together - it's stunning.
ReplyDeletethis is just lovely - I love the style of it and you've really captured the illuminated bits coming through the brooding skies with those wonderful greens! I know what you mean about feeling challenged - there is so much I want to achieve but I am finding it more and more difficult to find enough time to fit it all in - damn this working 9-5 malarkey; it's totally interfering with my creative flow!
ReplyDeletenice tribute to the change in weather! I like how you just go to bed, that seems to solve a lot of issues, lol.
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up, I loved your post! Art or go to bed? Yeah I know what ya mean! I usually lay awake all night too excited about all the things I want to paint, then the alarm goes off for work in the morning and I'm too tired by the time I get home to paint anything at all, ha! Yeah I feel the universe is doing strange things to me too. I think its menopause. Sometimes its awful and the next minute I'm crying for the shear magic of being alive!!!Your painting is gorgeous! Hugs and happy PPF! Deb
ReplyDeleteLoose and breezy - just like we'd all like our lives to be, right? Love the free style you've used in this.
ReplyDeletewonderful lisa. such lively painting. Lets keep learning and achieve our dreams. Go to bed for now and dream about art:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a delicious painting. Fluid and moving. I often do my best thinking late at night.
ReplyDeleteTopsy turvey is a good way to put it! Very lovely interpretation of this perfectly captured with bold strokes :)
ReplyDeleteLove the combination of the light and the dark. Brooding is the perfect word for those skies. I, too, am exploding with creative energy - so easy to take on too much, so hard to know where to focus that energy when there are just so many wonderful ways to play with it.
ReplyDeleteWonderful painting!
ReplyDeleteAnd a great post that puts into words the shifts that I have experienced, too. You have worded it so eloquently.
Thank you, too, for joining my art blog hop and posting the button to your site.
I really appreciate it and enjoy following your blog.
All the best,
Mary

ReplyDeleteI feel it, too...
ReplyDeleteAlways art instead of bed :)
