It's Friday and it's party time! There's a great new blog- Paint Party Friday - that you should visit where everyone shares a painting and so here is mine!
I've been experimenting with watercolour with Bonnie Rose Bryan on the Willowing.ning site. Painted with a very restricted palette of just 4 colours. I loved how the blush spread across her cheeks wet in wet, like she'd just found out the class hunk fancies her!
Well, today has been totally red nose random. For those of you outside the UK, perhaps I should explain. Today is Red Nose Day for the charity Comic Relief. We wear red noses and do something funny for money. I went to work in my PJs and slippers where we had a contest to see how many of us could fit inside an old-style Mini Cooper. My team won - there were 17 of us squashed and squished inside; it got rather hot in there I can tell you!
I didn't wear a red nose though. I didn't have to. Can you believe I've caught another cold??? Man, I need a break!

This is beautiful! I just love the colors you've used -- And I can't believe it's watercolor! It has so much more depth than most watercolors I've seen...Color me impressed...
ReplyDeleteHappy Paint Party Friday!

A restricted palette must really stretch your creativity. Love your painting and thanks for the link. I have been practicing my watercolors too.
ReplyDeleteOh now I like your style of painting. Excellent. The colors jump out at you. Really very good. She appears to be comtemplating something...I wonder what? Great job. Thanks. Have a great weekend.

She's quite beautiful. Love the restricted palette, you really don't need any other colors.
ReplyDeleteFortunately for me I can go to work in my jammies any day. :) But we've never tried to cram us all into a mini cooper. lol
Hope you feel better soon. It's an odd time of year for cold and flu season but it seems like everyone around me is sick, including my youngest son. Must be the crazy weather changes we have here.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful hazel eyes, and the blush on her cheeks is superb! I also like the flowing hair. Very nice =) Kathryn
ReplyDeleteI love your painting (although your story about squishing into a mini for comic relief had me squirming in a claustrophobic manner as I read it - good on you for doing it!!) PPF is a great idea although I've been looking through all the other artist's blogs for half the evening now!
ReplyDeleteShe's really quite lovely! Her eyes are amazing they sparkle right off the page.
ReplyDeletelove the fact you just used 4 colors...it's so fun to mix it up with paint! letting loose and just playing! She's great, lisa. sorry to hear you are sick again...atleast you got to wear you pj's to work! :) xxoo
She is just beautiful. AS for squishing into a little car...wow kudos to you because i would never do that! I have claustrophobia and don't even like to go into tunnels! :-)
ReplyDeleteShe is gorgeous, you can really look deep into her eyes, they are so clear. Love the blush on her cheeks also.
ReplyDeleteYay to your team winning & doing something for Comic Relief. And wearing PJs to work sounds kinda good in a comfy way. Boo to you getting another cold - sending get well quickly wishes your way.
ReplyDeleteThis ladies eyes are amazing - they look so real & full of life! All your eye practice is really paying off. And once again I love the hair - I'm thinking of taking a collection of your paintings to the hairdressers as inspiration next time I go!
Kat :-)

I love her vibrant lips and how clear bad bright her eyes look. It's a painting, but she looks so alive. So far, I have managed to avoid the colds plagueing everyone in my local city...but I did just spend the day with germ infested father so we shall see what may now befall me...
