Headache
and when it gets really intense
and even this
And this is before we go to Paint Party Friday...
Just some abstract paint play in my sketchbook. Started off as one of my background pages created from leftover paint on my palette - waste not want not.
My boyfriend can see his headache in there - pain pulsing and spreading out...Perhaps I should paint paracetamol next...

This definitely portrays a bad migraine. So inventive. Happy PPF and a great weekend, Annette x
ReplyDeleteOh I can definitely feel the intensity of pain in this and it's full of emotion. Many of my journal pages have been started with left over paint; I too hate to waste:-)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely paint me some 'paracetemol' or pehaps stronger. I recognised my current pain in this so perhaps if you paint me a pain killer it may sort me out without the need for ingesting chemicals. Actually there's a thought...maybe I could try and paint my good pain free super healthy health...paint it into being....I could cancel up coming tests & appointments. Wouldn't that be fab?*thinking on this...*

How did you know what my head feels like with a migraine! An excellent job of translating pain into colors and shapes. I like that the forms are rounded and organic rather than jagged. Some pain is not sharp but just all-encompassing.
ReplyDeleteOkay enough about pain...thinking happy thoughts...I do love the red, my favorite color!
Great idea for left over paint - I don't know how many times I wasted paint by simply washing it away - this is a great idea. And your painting is fantastic - its fantastic how you've portrayed something intangible so well - I can really see 'pain' written all over this!
ReplyDeleteFantastic way to used up leftover paint. I should do that more often. The color palette really brings out the intensity of the headache. Well Done!
ReplyDeleteFortunately for me Lisa, I don't get headaches but if I did, I know it would look like your painting! You have captured pain!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a perfect representation of a headache. This is a brilliant abstract.

ReplyDeleteHi Lisa. Happy PPF and 4th of July weekend. It really does look like a migraine headache. Very intense and can almost feel the throbbing. Great job!
ReplyDeleteYep that looks like one of my migraines - when I get one.

I love this! The colors are great and the title, well, that is just perfect! :-)
ReplyDeleteNice....great paintings come from the "extra paint"...this is a nice composition!

ReplyDeleteYikes! Your poor boyfriend!
ReplyDeleteI love the closeups of this piece - really intense!
How are you dear Lisa?
We are getting set to celebrate the 4th of July here - very festive weekend.

A "paracetamol" painting would be a wonderful complement to this piece... a great idea! Seeing the pain paired with the relief would be a marvelous juxtaposition and a fun exploration for your abstract pieces :)

Captured the migraine amazingly! I hate them with a passion, they just wipe you out! Happy PPF! Theresa
ReplyDeleteThe intensity and colors of your work really do give visual clues to the physical pain of severe headaches. WOW! HAPPY PPF!
ReplyDeletePerhaps not a very happy painting but very interesting! My migraines are more of a bluish white to me, like a frozen shard of ice through my head. Pleasant, huh? LOL. I do your painting and hope you don't actuallty HAVE this headache right now.
ReplyDeleteAmazing! This really captures the pain of a headache - a really bad one- thank God I do not suffer often.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to seeing the paracetamol ;D
art is so powerful when it comes to expressing pain!
ReplyDeleteWow, that describes a headache better than words.
ReplyDeleteLove the abstract painting... very fierce looking! And i love how you make you use of leftover paint.. good for you! Happy PPF and weekend!
ReplyDeleteHow about ripe, bursting berry clusters?
ReplyDeleteNo?
Well, I tried....
Hope he gets over it soon!

ReplyDeletePerfect interpretation of a headache!! Great color
ReplyDeleteYep, I see a headache in there...maybe a migraine, as it looks exactly how I feel when I have one. I really like this piece! Very powerful. Happy PPF! :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is captivating as well as accurate, I get migraines and they feel as intense and pulsing as these paintings look. The red makes me think of the blood vessels causing the pain. Powerful work, and hope you are feeling well!
ReplyDeleteGreat headache painting. I get horrible ones and this one looks like a zinger!
ReplyDeleteI love that you worked on it with leftover paint. It's fun to use up paint like that!
Great abstract! It captures that headache so well! Did capturing it this way somewhat relieve it, I wonder?
ReplyDeleteThis is really funny to me, because when I looked at your pictures, especially the last one, I saw a beautiful baby doll nightie. I was thinking how I would love to have one like that!
ReplyDeleteLove play with colors!
Art is truly in the eye of the beholder!
Wow you really captured a headache. Very good play with color. Happy PPF just a bit late!
