When orange ink blobs bleed through from the page in a journal you were working on to the other side of the page?
Why, you sketch Koi carp of course!
These are my pages for Maggie's orange, yellow and grey (with a splash of something else if you feel like it) journal. As the months roll by each time the postman brings me my next delivery the excitement bubbles up in a fizz of anticipation. What treasures will be unveiled this month? How will my fellow artists have immersed themselves in the colour fest of each journal. Are they as paint-splattered as me?
There is one more page, but I'm leaving that to Maggie to discover
(plus... it scanned really badly and I only noticed after I'd put it in the post!!).
Sharing my orange, yellow and grey with
Sunday Sketches.
Good save. This is wonderful. Love the koi and the gorgeous flowers. Wow! These books just keep getting more and more awesome.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool way to save the bleeded page! Your koi fish are really beautifully drawn.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! xoxox
ReplyDeleteThe koi are really great! love the save!!
ReplyDeleteA happy accident I'd call it...love your paintings.
ReplyDeleteLisa, these pages are indescribably beautiful! The koi are so graceful and the orange ink blobs look perfectly at home there...I would never have known they were a bleed-thru! The flowers are cheerful and brilliant, and it all reminds me that I LOVE orange!! Yellow too, I love those feathers. Eeee, now I can't wait to see the elusive page...let me see, counting the months til it is back at my door...four? I can't believe our magical journey is half over.
ReplyDeleteFabulous pages! Love the koi! How fun and creative! No one would ever know they were a happy accident.
ReplyDeleteI just rec'd the journal today. Yay! I cannot wait to take a peek.

ReplyDeleteOh my I do love the Koi, thanks for the inspiration I have the exact problem in one of my journals.
ReplyDeleteThey say that some of the best art comes from mistakes - your use of those unplanned splodges is ingenious and very lovely! The combination of flowers and feathers is gorgeous too. And yes, I for one am definitely as paint-splattered as you are! x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous bright pops of color and line work!
ReplyDeleteIncredible! What a blessing that paint bleeding was...the way you drew those magical koi and left them unpainted...brilliant!!! Almost an abstract piece, just gorgeous, Lisa!

These are brilliant! Paint blobs put to perfect use! I love your colourful art :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes I am frequently plaint splattered too, lol :-) Your painting with its under pattern (stenciling or stamping??)& its gorgeous orangey yellow floral beauty is gorgeous. And I love the inked fish over the bubbly background. Maggie is sure to love these pages and the ones we haven't got to see.
