This is actually two pieces layered digitally on top of each other.
You might need to enlarge her to see all the details. Background is made from collaged papers layered with acrylics, watercolours, alcohol ink and glimmer mist.
Girl is a mixed media piece on old book page.

The allegory of Spring
Something with a hidden meaning
Something from your soul
When I draw these girls they do truly come from the soul. There's a magic in creation. Willow is a daughter of the Spring, born under a sap moon. She brings light and life and is bursting with energy, but also spends time in quiet focus nurturing the seeds within her.
Here's the background on its own.

Love the text in the background. She's lovely.
ReplyDeleteShe is beautiful and the combination is awesome; Spring in color and word.
ReplyDeleteReally lovely. She is beautiful. And love the background.
ReplyDelete~a piece that really need not words...she stands beautifully on her own...seeing her enlarged the softness of text coming through and the colors of spring wrapping themselves around her are magic indeed...much love light and blessings~
ReplyDeleteThat's really a wonderful effect Lisa!
ReplyDeleteTruly beautiful. It's always hard to express what you feel in your heart and soul, but this piece SHINES !

p.s. I love the word "chuffed" - we don't really use it in the U.S. (but we should!) :)

I love this painting! The texture and colours really compliment the girl.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous....layered, interesting and captivating....like Spring personified :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous! The background is so lovely as are the colors and textures and layers. Lovely interpretation of spring!
ReplyDeleteYour girls are so special, Lisa. The each hold a glimpse of your soul, a facet of your essence. I guess that is why they are all so splendid and lovely.
ReplyDeleteYour layering in this piece is really remarkable, since the background could stand on its own.
She is soft and floral, and complicated, just like spring is...and, I am assuming, you are.
♥♥♥
PS: Thanks for not having me jump through anti-robot hoops to comment...greatly appreciated!
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful! Even though the background is so detailed, it compliments the face so nicely!
ReplyDeleteLovely. I always love the way you layer your art Lisa. :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat artwork, I love the surface and the colours
ReplyDeleteThe layers are very well done. It's interesting to see your background separately. Your colors work beautifully together.
ReplyDeleteReally pretty colors and character face. She makes me think of a springtime memory, somewhat faded, but always persistent. Love the vibrancy and feel of this work <3
ReplyDeleteEach of your lovely girls seems to evolve, and I sense that they change in whatever way they speak to you as you paint. This makes them so beautiful! I love the springlike colors in this one. (I hope you saved the background image ~ I love it as it stands alone!)
ReplyDeleteEver since a week ago Tuesday, I've had a terrible time keeping my computer going. It keeps freezing up and I have to reboot. No fun at all, and it has put me even further behind every day.
ReplyDeleteI would NEVER have guessed this was a digital entry. It is simply gorgeous. And the way you use the pieces: that in itself is an allegory.
looks wonderful with the background !
