This resolution's not mine (non-smoker, rather than a refusal to give up!). Instead, it's a bit of fun to start off the New Year and answer the theme from Illustration Friday.

I must say, it shows how times have changed when I'm sober and bored enough on New Year's Eve to get the paints out... That can't be a good thing. I did stay up until gone 2am though - what a rebel!

If you read yesterday's post, you'll know that this time next year I'll be waking up in some swanky country hotel looking forward to a bracing walk with the family through the countryside on fresh fallen snow. I'm getting excited already! We'll have tucked in to a hearty breakfast involving copious amounts of local produce, wrapped ourselves up warm and allowed the fresh air to blow away the cobwebs.

Today however it is grey and drizzling... I'm off to do some housework... deep joy...

  1. Of course you know I love the picture of the gal you prismacolored that is the heading for yesterday's blog~ She looks great posted and I'm so happy to see her sitting on my mantel right now too.

I love your next year scenerio of New Year's Eve and all the things you will have accomplished by then. That is a wonderful visualization..and very possible as well.

It will be an interesting decade.

  2. Sounds like the perfect way to bring in the New Year next year! Housework??!! UG!!! Not a good way to start this year lol! Happy New Year!! xo Michele

  3. Oh Lisa, who needs to party when you have paints! I too painted on New Years, but I went to bed by 10! I'm a complete bore, but it seems to work for me.
As far as housework though, you should have none of that this time of year! Blessings for a fab 2011 lovely lady!

  4. omg, this made me laugh out loud - love it! thanks for a happy start to the new year!

  5. Happy New Year to you Lisa, so love following you on your journey, here's to a successful 2011

  6. Hehehe! Nice one! Love the “different” angle ;o) Oh and your challenge portrait from yesterday is gorgeous! Happy New Year!!! Love your “stuff” Lisa!!!

  7. I love you new year's creation. Happy New Year.

  8. that is pretty funny, thank you for inspiring a smile. Wishing you a wonderful 2011~

  9. I dunno....staying home and playing with paints sounds pretty good to me! I went out to a party, but only stayed twenty minutes because I couldn't handle the mob scene, even though I knew almost everyone there.....

    Funny illustration!

  10. Love it! I painted papers for a book last night--couldn't think of a better way to spend New Year's, frankly.

  11. Happy New Year, Wrightstuff! I hope 2011 is a great one for you!

  12. Terrific humour and smashing artwork. Great start to 2011. Annette x
