Anyway, rambling aside, it was a wonderful moment when I discovered that the challenge for Mixed Media Monday this week was 'Leftovers'. What fun! I collaged a heap of scraps then made something from seemingly nothing.
Pic above is the final version. After the collage, I layered some acrylics then transferred the dreamy image and added the words as well as a little bit of this and that. Is she perhaps about to eat that leftover cupcake do you think?
Available to buy in my Etsy shop.
very beautiful entry and lovely with the soft colors
ReplyDeleteLisa, this is GORGEOUS! It's obvious you enjoyed this challenge as much as I did :-) You created such an amazing piece from just bits and pieces. So my advice (apologies to your mum) is to keep hording if this is the result! Diane
ReplyDeleteOh wow these are stunning.
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable work. Love them.
Wow this is very very beautiful, love it, I'm a hoarder too, have lots of fabric leftovers everywhere in my studio.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful--that's why we can't throw anything out--it will someday become a piece of art :)
ReplyDeleteThis is totally lovely and amazing! I too save all manner of junk to use in my art, and I always have. My first creative memory, as a child, was when I collected bits of colored glass from the street and used them to make a mosaic. My husband, often goes to client appointments with bits of paper or fabric clinging to his suits. Your leftover piece is incredibly beautiful. Thank you for explaining the proess and including the picture of the piece in progress.
ReplyDeleteLove,
