Lethargy & Inertia
Two words that pretty much sum up how I feel this evening.
Maybe it's the weather. It's sultry and there's a storm brewing.
Maybe it's just me.
Here's a picture I painted earlier in the week when I had the energy to lift a brush. If you look very closely you'll see the dancer.
I'm dancing in my heart... honest...

Hello lovely. Sorry you feel that way tonight. Me too. I've had one of those days. I just wrote another Japan post to cheer me up. It did but I still feel knackered. Weather isn't helping. We had a thunder storm but it didn't really really lift the heavy air. Here's to feeling better tomorrow xxx
ReplyDeleteThe weather is so humid at the moment and it definitely effects our energy levels.
ReplyDeleteLoving your painting and the dancing shadow. Happy PPF, Annette x
you sound so very sad, please be happy,,,,
ReplyDeleteStorms brewing do funny things to everyone... hope it has been and gone and that your energy levels are returned to normal... or that you have a great sleep and wake up refreshed... either way be back to your normal wonderful self soon...xx
ReplyDeleteLovely painting, she looks like she has already danced all through the night! Same weather here in Germany, all I want to do is to crawl into my bed! Valerie
ReplyDeleteWhat happened? This is such a beautiful piece and I love the layers over days...i hope you are well and happy, Lisa! I look at your work all the time...I love the "across the pond" connection and I just love your energy and art...hope you pass through this storm...big xxoooss
ReplyDeletesuch wonderful depth to this!
ReplyDeleteI found the dancer! Love the painting!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you need a rest and a massage. :) Love your portraits as always.
ReplyDeletehum....maybe you've given so much of yourself to the class that you need a break. I just want to thank you for all I have gotten from you and hope that you spunk up soon!!!

Well your work did not look like your mood. It's terrific in every way!
ReplyDeleteHPPF!
Even if the title is lethargic, the colors are hot and full of energy, I like it. Yes I see the dancer. Happy PPF
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely the weather - I feel it too. It's very hard to get motivated to do anything when it's sticky and muggy yet wet and rainy. Meh.
ReplyDeleteYour painting is lovely and I did look closely and I did see the dancer!
Here's to the same energy shown in your dancing lady painting. maybe it is the barometer. Huge black sky here this morning and I feel sooo sleepy!
ReplyDeleteKeep dancing in your heart even though it doesn't show on the outside. Beautiful piece. Happy PPF
ReplyDeleteAt least you Know to keep dancing. She is so beautiful. . .you did excellent with her and her dancer in her waking dreams. Blessings, Janet PPF
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely words!!
ReplyDeleteYour art combines 2 of my favorite passions: art and dance!

Wonderful- I love the way the dancer is almost hidden- so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI totally see the dancer! Absolutely love the girl too, and the great red background!
ReplyDeleteLovely painting. Hope the mood lifts for you soon. My Mom used to say.. This to will pass. HPPF
ReplyDeleteI don't know what making you lethargic but it's the weather that's doing it to me. Too hot to do anything.
ReplyDeleteYour painting/collage is fantastic.
Oh, we do not have hot at all... Not that I'm particularly energetic... But your painting has wonderful energy, passion and beauty!
ReplyDeleteLove the dancer and the quote...all fits wo well together and get such a positive expression!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful piece. Sometimes we just have to take a rest in order for the creative ideas to continue to flow. I love the layers and colors of this beautiful work of art.
ReplyDeleteDancing in your mind totally counts, at least in my book. I love this painting, and the semi-hidden dancer is genius.
ReplyDeleteShe's beautiful, but sad.The dancer is wonderful! I hope she is dancing in her heart to get through it all!! Wishing you love and joy!

She is lovely and the layers are stunning. Weather can sometimes really bring us down. We are on day 6 of over 100° F and it's really wearing me down.
