Bring me sunshine

Bring me Sunshine, in your smile,
Bring me Laughter, all the while,
In this world where we live, there should be more happiness,
So much joy you can give, to each brand new bright tomorrow,

Make me happy, through the years,
Never bring me, any tears,
Let your arms be as warm as the sun from up above,
Bring me fun, bring me sunshine, bring me love.

Bring me Sunshine, in your eyes,
Bring me rainbows, from the skies,
Life's too short to be spent having anything but fun,
We can be so content, if we gather little sunbeams,

Be light-hearted, all day long,
Keep me singing, happy songs,
Let your arms be as warm as the sun from up above,
Bring me fun, bring me sunshine, bring me love.

Words - Sylvia Dee, Music - Arthur Kent

Yes, it's raining again. Yesterday I went to sea (OK, we stayed in the harbour... but it was still the sea), and my skin turned blue. Today I'm wearing socks and a jumper, my nose is cold and drippy and I can't feel my toes.

July? I think I may have gone through a time warp and it's actually January.

Thank goodness for Kristin's Summer of Colour to keep us warm. Final week and we're bringing out the watermelon.

Thanks to our gracious host for holding such a wonderful party! Now, let's just go find ourselves some Summer.

I should point out that the picture below is NOT a black and white photograph, nor has it been altered in any way shape or form. This is what Portsmouth Docks looked like on 15th July 2012. Tropical.

  4. Your colorful flower looks like a rudbeckia..I love the it.

As far as weather goes, I really feel for you having that cold spell. Not much fun at the shore in that weather. Here we are in the southern USA having a heat wave. Can't win can we?

Sorry about your weather. I would gladly trade you our excessive, deadly heat for a few days of cold and rain.

  15. You had me smiling and singing along with that old Morecombe and Wise song, they were so funny :D

Yes, the weather is DIRE, it has to be said. Your photo of Portsmouth Docks really does sum it up.

However, your artwork is LOVELY, this also has to be said! I really like that you put your flower on a black background, that's very striking.

Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny.............

  19. Where are you that it's so cold? Delaware is sweltering.

Pretty painting! How fun that we chose to draw such similar flowers for the final Summer of Color challenge.

  21. I love your bright tropical flower - like you summer of colour is the only actual summer colour I've experienced this year (apart from one random day of sun during which I acquired an attractive tee shirt tan!) I love that sunshine song (always makes me think of Morcambe and Wise, bless!) and I never knew all the words to it before - how lovely!
