Bookmark

I had a bit of a clear out this week. (Not too much Mum, don't get excited), but I didn't manage to clear half a cupboard in the sideboard which I fully intend to fill with art supplies currently cluttering up every available surface.

I must admit it did feel good and I vowed to tackle next the spaces filled with yellowing paperbacks. It's just it's not quite so easy to part with magical prose... and I will read them again... probably... someday...

Thank heavens for my Kindle I say. In the same way that iTunes has prevented CDs from taking over the house, this flat little electronic device is saving my home from turning into the British Library. And while it's not quite the same as holding paper in hand, it more than makes up for it on the ease of use and storage.

All Kindle need to do now is create some digital bookmarks and I'll be a happy bunny. Maybe they could start by using one of these I made earlier... for the Artist Playroom.

I make a lot of digital bookmarks. I love to chop up my work in PhotoShop to focus on the finer details or layer up a new look for an older image.

  1. These bookmarks are wonderful Lisa. My husband loooooves his Kindle. I am an old-fashioned girl...so hard to give up that cozy book in hand. It goes so well with morning coffee. :)

Happy cleaning/organizing. We did that a few weeks back...took an entire week! But so worth it.

  2. I love your bookmarks, I love messing around in photoshop too. I usually prefer books with pages, but it's nice to have a book on my phone when I'm standing in line. I get sick of solitaire after awhile!!

  3. ~your bookmarks are wonderfully made...clearing out spaces always brings a sense of excitement for the possibilities of what could come to be...a space for new...a door to open...i tackled our hall closet last year and finally finally have a wee space to keep all my supplies...no longer scattered everywhere...makes wanting to create a bit easier and the desire to do such lingering...to more open spaces...much love light and blessings~

  7. These make gorgeous bookmarks. I'm not a digital person myself, have to hold the paper I'm afraid. Give me an old fashioned bookmark that gets old an tatty, that's perfect in my book. Now I just need to time to use them :)

  8. Every one of your bookmarks is gorgeous, but the blue one in particular is my favourite. Lovely colours and an image that can be read so many ways.
Yes, I love my kindle too, though I thought like so many people that I would miss the feel of the book in my hand. But through Kindle I have read books that I would never have seen in the bookshops, and it's so easy to slip in my handbag when we're going out for a coffee.

  9. I know we will have to go over to Kindles some time but trying to avoid it as long as I can... I love the feel and smell of a book and just hate the thought of giving that up... but space will become as issue at some time... love the bookmarks... your work is so suitable and perfect for them...xx
