Of moods and blues
Struggling this week. Dealing with loved ones in hospitals, sleep deprivation and a huge sense of overwhelm. Art helps, but it's interesting how it turns out...
Colour schemes favour blues. Original sketch below and final digitized version above. I feel the cracks, the smudges and the slightly lost sense in her eyes...
I can also hear my art supplies calling me back. I'm heeding their pleading and must return...

yes, it seems there is a black cloud oover alot of people...and it is funny how our art shows our moods...my mom actaully mentioned it to me...and i agreed....

When my mother got really sick last month I had very similar feelings. I love the digital effects you put on your drawing Lisa, very nice.

Lisa...I sometimes find that the work I cherish the most is the work I do while i am under the strains of life...the emotion feeds the work..your paintings are so charged and emotional...and beautiful! Sorry for the hard times you are having...hang there, cycber sister..I'll be sending lots of postive pure energy your way!

ReplyDeleteBe kind to yourself. It is easy to be kind and gentle when all goes well. It is however even more important during time of distress. I love the digital owrk. Wisdom aged. Such we receive through pain and endurance. Wonderful work. You are quite an inspiration for me beginner!

Sorry to hear about your loved ones. Lack of sleep can really cause us to feel overwhelmed and lose perspective. I hope you can get some rest and that you will find some help through your art. This is a beautiful piece you've done!

haunting, overwhelm yes it all shows however i also see an underlying strength - art is telling - hang in there! i am still peeking through last weeks sunday sketches as my days got so full :-) its almost Sunday again, hopefully things have improved.. the digitizing is cool..
