(There's something better coming up later in the post... bear with me...)
I wanted to quickly sketch the depth of the snow for you this morning (to share for Sunday Sketches). But the truth is, I am far too excited to actually get out in it and play and so this sketch is wildly out of proportion and frankly a bit of a disaster... but you get the gist. The measure on there is 8cm! Yes, 8cm of lovely fresh snow to go play in. Our first proper downfall this winter and who knows how long it will last.
The sketch looks more like a Christmas cake than a garden table. I couldn't find a ruler - hence the set square, but I think that worked better anyway!
My son and I are just waiting for the hour to be a bit more sociable before we venture outside and begin shrieking with delight as we throw snowballs, craft snowmen and generally cause mayhem.
As this sketch is a bit of a mess, I think I should also share a more complete piece of journalling I did yesterday. A face... what a surprise! I have seen other bloggers taking part in 29 faces and creating one portrait a day throughout the month of February. Normally, I would have leapt on this like a kid in his first snowdrift, but I am soooo busy mes amies that I am trying very hard not to leap at every opportunity that hits me in the face snowball style.
Hi Lisa, love the sundial... and sketch.. have fun in the snow.. I've got great photos of my kids when they were little in the snow.... :)
ReplyDeleteWell....you can keep all of that lovely snow, because I don't want it (you can tell my kids are older :)
ReplyDeleteWe've only had a few days this winter with some snowfall--heaven. Last year, it started in November and we didn't see green again until March, which is normal around here..so you can just keep all of that snow!
P.S. Have fun playing in it!!
P.S.S...and wonderful face--love those colors.

ReplyDeletetranquil sea of green with a splash of purple gives this piece a very calming feel...i like how the words in the background are written in different dierections...and the paint swirling in a cricle around her face...almost like she is looking through a portal...once more my dear friend a beautiful piece created and shared...much love light and warm blessings this day~
