You know how it is... You've worked hard all day exercising the mental muscle, then when night falls the Muse wants to come out and play... She dips her fingers into your paint boxes and has a good old rummage around, she flicks through magazines looking for models and then she sticks that pencil in your hand and urges you to draw, draw, draw...
No time for many words today (all my words are required by clients!). Instead I'll just post this piece that the Muse and I worked on over a couple of evenings. She's mixed media with oil pastels, acrylic and pencils. I couldn't quite make up my mind what colour background she should have - if you look closely you might just be able to spot my various alternatives lurking in the layering.
She also poses a few thoughts - firstly, that hair dragging over her face would drive me nuts. Perhaps I should get her a pretty hair slide to pin it back...? Also, I love her jumper but am a bit worried that she might be giving me the cold shoulder. What do you think?

ReplyDeleteI love everything about her. I think her shoulder lifted like that gives her a very interesting look. Great job.
ReplyDeleteThis is brilliant...the red.background is a huge winner...love her off the shoulder look...love this piece to bits actually...bravo!...xxx
ReplyDeleteOh wow she is totally beautiful and so full of glamour, you have a great muse. Happy PPF, Annette x
ReplyDeleteShe has attitude that is for sure. The hair thing very seductive, would irritate the crap out of me. Love how you and your muse work together.
ReplyDeleteAlright Lisa, I know I have said this before but this girl is my fav of yours so far!! I LOVE her hair!!! although I would not be able to have that hanging across my face it is a cool look!

Lisa, I've been missing lots of your postings (I was out of the country) and WOW, have you ever been busy. I love the Shades girl and the Butterfly one as well with saying. As far as the new one, she is striking the way she is and I see you have breached the difficult path of painting teeth! Very nice.
ReplyDeleteLoved the ideas behind right brain book and wild light video you presented. Go girl!!!!
oooh how I love her....seductive....:)) happy PPF!!
ReplyDeleteGorgesous! For some reason she rminds me of lady gaga. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Painting.. happpy PPF!
ReplyDeleteI actually love seeing her shoulder. There's something vulnerable about it. Really love this--all the colors and the detail.
ReplyDeletePerhaps owl paintings seem magical due to a Mr. Potter? Hmm...

The colors here are wonderful....punchy....like her tousled tresses and cheeky exposed shoulder...
ReplyDeleteThat Muse of yours doesn't accept excuses, I see...lucky girl!
The colors you've used are perfect. My step granddaughter wears her hair drooping over one eye. I don't know how she sees correctly! I am not so much worried about her presenting a cold shoulder as I am her having a wardrobe malfunction. LOL!
ReplyDeleteLove her hair!
ReplyDeleteAnd the rich red background expresses the urgency to create. :)
♥♥♥
Happy PPF!!

I think she's fabulous! Yeah, sexy girls don't seem to be bothered by hair in their faces or chilly shoulders and thighs, do they?
ReplyDeleteI agree with Carlarey she can get away with anything - she looks fab - love the post too - an insight to your thoughts :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty and you even did teeth, I have never even tried that. You go girl, your art is awesome.
ReplyDeleteshe has such character and emotions in her. Wonderfully done!

She's beautiful, mysterious, and looking for a bit of adventure! Love it!!!
ReplyDeletegreat colors! i'm immediately drawn in. at first, i thought i saw the same thing you did with the cold shoulder :-) but i think she looks more sad than disdainful or aloof. really gorgeous.
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing!
I think she is awesome and you paint beautifully!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you choose red instead of yellow! I think red fits her sultry personality. I love her jumper or shrug, beautifully done!
