It's the first of September - already there's a nip in the air and spiders are out to catch me with their silken threads. I've missed my friends at the Three Muses so was most desperate to join in this week with their nature challenge.
I've made some digital art with lots of layers, filters and a touch of magic. The file is high res, so if you would like to download it as a background to your own creations then do feel free. The flower photography was my own, the rust texture over the top came free from Night Fate Stock (sorry, I can't find the link).
Don't you think that autumn's colours are compensation for the ending of summer?
Well, really, even though it is the first of September where you are (I have another four hours until then), I can't quite tuck my head around autumn. As beautiful as it is, it also heralds winter which, in eastern Canada, often means six plus months of horrid and often treacherous weather. I am taking it one moment at a time and right now we are officially in a heat wave (according to the news) and I'm enjoying every minute. I am also heavily visualizing multiple heat waves through next May for my corner of the world!
ReplyDeleteso rich and so lush, I love the drama too!!!
ReplyDeletethat's beautiful texture!! love this piece!! and i am sooooo envious of you over there having glorious autumn to enjoy... autumn is my fav time of the year not just becos of it's beautiful colors, cool air and hidden romance, it's also when i return to england from summer hols to start a new year when i was at uni. i can still taste the anticipation of it all ... new year, seeing my then bf again, new accommodation and england! ahhh... i was probably an english in my last life!! ReplyDeleteLisa, there's something magical about this ~ it captures the dry crispness of fall with autumn's glorious colors. I can see the warm air rustling through the flowers! It has the look of what we would call "Indian Summer" over here.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to get something together for Three Muses this week...
My computer seems to be cooperating with your blog tonight, so I will hurry and try to get a comment in before Firefox crashes! Ugh. So many times I have tried to comment and haven't been able to.
Loved your entry in the IA challenge last week, and loved your comment on my post. I hope you are enjoying your time with your sweet son!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful digital art! Wonderful texture and colors that remind me that fall is close at hand. I love this time of year; the street festivals, the autumn leaves with such rich colors, the cooler air, and the special holidays that come with it. You've done a wonderful job of encompassing all that fall is within this piece ~~ beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYes I completely agree with you- the colors of Autumn are the best--this is awesome!
ReplyDeleteWow, such a fantastic piece of art.
ReplyDeleteYou have captured exactly the way I feel about autumn. Sunflowers are always an indicator of the end of summer and yours are striking and beautiful. I would very much like to use them for a background. Thanks so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAnd we've missed you! I love the autumnal colors of this one. I can almost smell the damp leaves in the forest! Beautifully done!

ReplyDeleteWhat radiant, gorgeous autumn colors! This is so pretty. Today feels like midsummer here, but I know that fall is not too far off.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous creation, love the textured look of it. Annette x
ReplyDeleteA beautiful piece. Your layering really does help to make a magical and atmospheric picture.
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not, we have no noticeable colour changes here in Australia - except for an "exotic" tree here and there. I had to travel to New England and Canada several years ago to see the glory of autumn colours and it was an amazing experience for me.
ReplyDeleteYour piece is absolutely superb - so rich and so beautifully executed. I love it!
